The Stepanyants group aims to uncover the principles of synaptic connectivity in the cerebral cortex. Research projects include theoretical and computational analyses of memory storage in real and artificial neural networks, reconstruction of cortical connectivity diagrams based on datasets of neuron morphologies, and development of algorithms and software tools for automated tracing of neural circuits from microscopy images.
