The Center for Theoretical Biological Physics (CTBP) proudly congratulates Dr. Mingyang Lu on his promotion to Associate Professor at Northeastern University. This milestone recognizes Dr. Lu’s outstanding contributions to the field of computational systems biology and his dedication to scientific excellence.

Dr. Lu is a current member of CTBP Northeastern and previously served as a member of CTBP Rice, where he played a vital role in advancing the center’s interdisciplinary research mission. We are thrilled to celebrate this well-deserved achievement and look forward to many more years of innovation and success in his academic career.

About Dr. Mingyang Lu

Dr. Lu received his B.S. in Physics from Fudan University in 2003 and earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine in 2010. He began his independent research career in 2016 as an Assistant Professor at The Jackson Laboratory before joining the Department of Bioengineering at Northeastern University.

His research focuses on developing methodologies in computational systems biology, with particular emphasis on modeling gene regulatory networks and cellular state transitions. By integrating genomics data analysis with mathematical modeling, Dr. Lu aims to unravel the complex mechanisms governing cellular behavior. His impactful work has been recognized with a prestigious five-year Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award (MIRA) from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
